Breaking New Ground...

There is nothing more exciting, yet at the same time frightening and uncertain, then seeing your artwork enter a new area. Well, thats where I'm heading now. Entering that dark tunnel, hoping to come out the other side, stronger and more confident. I guess the best thing you can do is enjoy the ride.
I see and feel the influence of looser strokes. More expressive brush and now nib work. Love the nib. I think all the Manga i've been reading is entering my DNA, as well as some European and South American artists i've been slowly digesting for years now.
Hope you all enjoy watching this change occur, and the results.

Dude, Whatever you're absorbing keep it up! The face at the top is one of my favorites I've ever seen on here. LOVE the handling of the dreads, the shading is perfect and the exaggeration is spot on. NICE!

Oh man... You are definitely headed into a new exciting direction. That head is so loose. To me, this looks like you let go and just drew it, keeping it more gestural. I can't wait to see where this takes you. Sick man.

Nice work Shawn! I really appreciate the black and whites. I find color obscures texture, but you seem to find a way around regardless. F'ing intense and impressive. Good luck with the new gig.
