Burried in finals. My daughter turns 6 today as well. All good things. I finding time to draw still, not as much as I'd like, but finding time none the less. Here's the latest study plus a thumb for an X Men pin up i'm going to play with.
Here's another page of X Men sketches. I had planned on doing more this weekend, but i got tight deadline ink job for Wildstorm. I'll make sure to squeeze in sketch time where i can, and post.
Cartoonist extraordinaire, Carlos Meglia, passed away. He was 51. He was a landmark cartoonist in comics, and responsible for a look that people like Humberto Ramos went on to be inspired by. His name wasn't huge in the american market, but almost every artist knew his work in and out. Do yourself a favor and look at his blog, then run out and get Superman: Infinite City.
I started reading the first X Men stories, the Lee?Kirby ones. Classic stuff. I'll be busy playing with these for a while, once i'm done writing these damn syllabi!
I'll be in Lexington, KY this weekend. I have juried a gallery show of local comic creators, i will be giving a lecture on Black and White design in comics Friday , and a day long workshop on Saturday. Thanks to Jonathan and Nathan for setting this up. Should be a blast! Stop by if you're in the area.
Still trying to decide if this works or not. Kinda weird stepping into this, not really sure if I have a voice with it. It was a good exercise all in all though.
Well, I'm back and energized as ever. San Diego was great. My presence on this blog has been lame to say the least. I am ramping it up to 11 now. I have TON of stuff coming up, and i'll be showing it as i go. I'll also be spending more time studying drawing, which i haven't done for a little while. Here's a study to get things rolling.
